My dog can be aggressive or anxious?
If your dog is aggressive or anxious please let us know on arrival as this may affect our approach and length of grooming time. It may be necessary to do the groom over several sessions in order to get them used to the scenario. I will work with you and your pet to find the best approach. A muzzle may be used as a last resort within the groom however, we will notify you if there are any problems throughout the groom and ensure your dogs welfare is at the forefront with all grooming decisions.
Matted Coats
At the initial consultation i will assess your dog. If the coat is severely matted i will try and preserve the coat as much as possible by brushing and washing. However with severe matting it may be necessary to fully shave the coat. Matting causes the dogs distress as matted hair twists the coat down to the dogs skin and makes the skins tight. Extra pulling caused by brushing would bruise the dogs skins and cause distress. I will always inform you if I do have to shave the dog. Please remember, it's coat will grow back and the animals welfare is paramount. Additional fees may apply depending on the time it takes to groom the dog.
